#14739 - Pair of CDVs of Maine Soldier Brothers ID known
This is a pair of original Civil War CDVs which has traveled time together to come to us: Two Tozier family sons from Gardiner, Maine who both enlisted on December, 3rd 1863. One card has photographer's name Variell from Gardiner, ME. Names on back of cards. The Civil War database tells us that Edward was the one in the 2nd Maine Cavalry as backed-up by his boots. The other, Elijah was also in 2nd Maine Cavalry. Which makes sense that both brothers enlist same day and both end-up in Company "C" together. There are other Toziers in CW Database, but these two make most sense from the facts. Card edges trimmed.
