#14755 - Large Cannister ring Pleasant Hill by Terry Waxman
This is a large, slick iron ring for containing balls in a stand of grape. (See example photograph) It was labeled 24 Pound Canister by prior owner on his card, but since about 6 inches, I think it was more a 32 pounder. The ring has some slight pitting. Dark and slick from electrolysis. Solid and not flaking. Has a light overall poly coating now. Recovered on private land years ago by Terry Waxman at Pleasant Hill (Red River campaign) These are not coming out of ground so pretty anymore! A tough item for the Projectile specialist. (Last photo is only an example of full stand of grape. Not what is for sale)
