#14760 - US Belt Plate 32 on leather belt
This is a cool relic of Civil War brought home by a surviving troop. It is a honey-toned brass Enlistedman's US beltplate. Interestingly, impressed "32" into lead. The plate has a curled edge on hook side and dings. Very "been to War" look. There is a 33 inch length of brown pigskin belt. It has tears and a very thin spot, just holding together. From Wisconsin but that is all that is known about source. It would display well if not moved around a lot. Or, just have a leather-smith sew the weak spots properly.
