#14937 - Brain Surgery Ripping the Dura Heys Saw
This is the Heys Saw used to gently tear its way through the Dura Mater cover of the brain with fine serrated blades. Kinda like a beaver at a log... The skull would first be cut away in area of course... While they might be brave enough to try to cut out brain tumors, likely in this era, they would be draining sub dural blood collections from trauma. This Heys Saw is original with the checkered wooden grip used before advent of hot steam sterilization in Victorian times. Has some tarnish on blade. A maker's marking that my eyes cannot fully read. (Do not use this on noisy children)
