#14975 - 1862 Letter from BF OBryon leter KIA in 1864
This is a 4 page latter home written in ink by B.F. O'Bryon, a sergeant in Co. E of the 140 th PA Infantry. He was later killed on 5/31/1864 at Totopotomoy Creek, Virginia. Written to his nephew. This has stains, and page edges are separating, but pretty easy to read his thoughts: Gratified to get a letter from the nephew. Has not seen family in many months. He is so lonely since his wife died and away from his children.... His cousin died of "galloping consumption" (TB) A cousin is in Banks Division. Uncle Frank was discharged due to "a hurt". Signed in ink.
