#15049 - Civil War Flesh Cutting Amputation Knife
This is a nice original Civil War era Doctor's Surgeon's Amputation Saw. This was their preferred tool over the serrated teeth saw. Doctor's used this saw to fillet the flesh meat on all side of the bone, then would cut the bone or joint after. Marked in blade: 'GALANTE PARIS' Which is Henri Galante of Paris. Established in 1851. About 11.5" long Handle is CW era checkered-pattern Ebony and is in perfect shape. Blade has some minor wear and light touch staining.
