#15173 - Unique First Lieutenant Rank Board Transitional This is a unique First Lieutenant rank shoulder board with a faded red cloth field denoting artillery. The size and open-back construction mimic the Civil War era. But the width of borders and variant gold stripes in the bars suggest later period. My thoughts are Indian Wars or more likely Spanish American War. 4" by 1 5/8. Some blue uniform cloth still adhered to backs of edge. It comes in a free Riker case for safe & easy future display. A variant true rank board collectors should possess!
