#15422 - Quarter Plate Tintype two cigar chomping Chums
This is a larger "quarter plate" tintype of two cigar-chompin' chums posing casually in a photo. One is a Union private in a frock coat which has a cloth corps badge sewn onto it. He wears his kepi. The other man who leans on his shoulder is in civilian garb but wears a kepi. The subject is playful between buddies in a last chance at boyish fun. The tin has crackling around periphery with some emulsion flaking losses. The soldiers in center are preserved. No ID known. It comes in original fancy brass mat & glass. Has a half of an old leatherette case. A cool image despite the edge flaking.
