#15433 - Model 1840 Wristbreaker Cavalry Saber & Scabbard
This is a classic Model 1840 heavy "wristbreaker" cavalry saber with its scabbard. Imported blade with knightshead logo on ricasso is from Kirschbaum in Germany. German blades were often used by American sword builders. This has a wonderful heavy, solid look & feel. It was lightly nickel-coated for a silvered parade look. The blade was excellently chromed bright post-War. This was clearly the treasured wall & parade relic of a proud veteran. The leather on ribbed wooden grip is dark, smooth intact. No wire. Blade tight to grip. Blade fits perfectly in iron scabbard with two carry rings. Just the perfect sword choice if you want a fine example of a classic Wristbreaker!
