#15458 - Ambrotype of two Young Lads who Die in Civil War
This is an original Ambrotype of two young brothers who reportedly died in the Civil War. The younger one seems to have a foreboding premonition on his face. The one in the great coat holds an apple! The sellers believed that these lads were : SAM AND BEN MAXWELL. One died in Libby Prison after captured by the Confederates. The other died on the battlefield. No further verification or information known. This is a Sixth Plate at approximately 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches. Very poignant story.
