#15634 - Ambrotype of Richard Carrington 56 th Pennsylvania
This is an original Sixth plate glass Ambrotype image of Richard Carrington of the 56 th PA Regiment. He was in Company K from September 1863 thru September 1865. Thus, he joined soon after regiment fought at Gettysburg, but was there at Wilderness with them. A piece of old paper in the case identifies him. This has great clarity & contrast. A slight hazy area over his kepi looks like a photographer's chemical splash. This image comes in original glass, fancy brass mats, and a full leatherette case. Civil War soldier ambros are highly sought. ID soldiers from Pennsylvania Ambrotypes are scarce.
