#15637 - Lady's Ring carried to war
This is a small dug brass wedding band found at a Civil War site years ago. Very thin metal. The 6 1/2 size indicates a woman wore it. Was it sent back to a soldier on campaign as a "Dear John" token by an unfaithful wife? Or sent to him by relatives when she died at home? Or, hopefully just carried as a sign of love, devotion & hope.
