#15688 - Tintype Identified Soldier and wife Camp Backdrop
This is an original Sixth Plate tintype of a standing Civil War soldier beside his wife in her shawl. On back of plate is scratched : "Geo. R.S. & Martha Pratt/ South Notth. (which I presume is South Nottingham). There is a camp of military tents backdrop. Faint minimal creases. Mid grade contrast & clarity. Buttons and cheeks highlighted by photographer. This needs research as there were many George Pratts in Union army. It comes under its original glass and fancy brass mats in a half of a leatherette case. Soldiers with wives are tough images to get, especially with hopes of a real ID.
