#15756 - Octagonal Percussion Pistol Barrel from Antietam This is a cool iron octagonal pistol barrel dug on private land at Antietam with owner's permission. Underground a long while, so had surface rusting with stippling & pitting. One can still see the base of the protruding nipple for the spark transit into chamber. This looks to have had a ramrod at one time by the distal raised ridge. This is small caliber for such pistols. Pretty cool from a famous CW battle. It was clear poly coated in past to prevent future flaking or spalling. About 8 3/8" long.
