#15920 - Union Eagle Plate from Burnside Bridge Antietam
This is a super Civil war relic from a very famous site in Antietam. Recovered near the Burnside Bridge where Union forces were bottlenecks and severely repulsed at great loss by determined Confederate defenders on the other side. The delaying action by a determined small group of Southrons bought the Rebels time to halt the Union attack towards Sharpsburg. One of the bloodiest days of battle in the Civil war. A famed location! A nice woodsy green patina to brass. Lead intact but no loops. Has old diggers pencil notation "Antietam" on read lead. It comes in a free Riker case for safe & easy future display.
