#16013 - Grouping of John G. Snow 157 PA. Vols
This is a grouping of documents from the life of John G. Snow who lived and served in Pennsylvania. It includes his Union Eagle discharge form stating he served in Co.G of the 157 Pennsylvania. It is overwritten that he was paid up until July 3, 1863. (An interesting date considering that Gettysburg was fought then!) There is a Deed for his property from 1882. A photograph of his "Snow Mill near Fandale, PA" stating on back that it was washed out in the flood of 1901. There is a newspaper obituary stating that he was in the local GAR and his casket was carried by sons of Veterans. There is a poem read at his funeral about Veterans going to Heaven and no longer seeing colors such as blue & gray. All items included in one grouping. More research would be interesting about his service, Gettysburg & the flood...
