#16058 - Splendid 1864 Naval Ord D with Water Seal cap This is a Union Naval fuse adaptor for a big naval bombardment shell. There is a waterseal cap still in its center shaft which keeps the spark from getting wet as the shell possibly skips across the water or beach. On rim, it is deeply impressed : Ord. D (anchor) "R" and 1864. Patchy green verdigris. Minor dings of rim edge. Body good with nice threads. An uncommon shell. A must for the CW fuze & shell collector.
