#16073 - Ambrotypes of Two Stylish Ladies of 1850s
These are two original glass ambrotype images of two related women of the 1850s. The larger, a sixth plate, shows Maria D. Curtis-Mansfield-Carr about 1857. She has Princess Lea biscuit hair!!! The smaller ninth plate is of Elizabeth Curtis-Burrill with ribbons in her hair. Both images show fine contrast & clarity as expected from ambrotypes with depth. These come in half leatherette cases and have old paper sheets behind the images which name the ladies. Both sold together since they knew each other in real life. Buy them as the Civil War relatives on your mantel.
