#16173 - Cool Relievio Style Ambrotype armed Union muttonchop
This is a cool original glass Sixth Plate ambrotype of a Union private with very cool muttonchops. It is done in the "relievio" style in which rear black contrast is only behind the sitter, thus setting him off more in "relief". This soldier wears a frock with gold-accented buttons. Some faint pink touches to his cheeks. He holds his musket bearing a bayonet against his shoulder. No ID yet known. But facial recognition program could possibly ID him in future. The emulsion has some solarization and patchy background stains which make the "look" of this ambrotype all the more "haunting". It comes under original glass, fancy brass mats, in a full leatherette case.
