#16333 - Medium Four section Spyglass imported from France This is a medium sized brass "four drawer" pocket telescope of spyglass. Used in field by officers to better see distant troop movements. It has nice honey-colored toning to brass tubes which slide easily in & out. Eyepiece is marked Made in France. Many scientific and precision instruments were still imported from England & France in 1800s. This also has a brass end cover. Closed length is 8", but fully opened is: 22 3/4".
