#16459 - Confederate Read Shell Fuze This is a dug metal fuze adapter insert for a Confederate read fuze. Screwed into threads of nose in an iron shell. The specific paper time-fuze was then introduced down center shaft of this adapter to carry spark to inner powder charge at selected time. Though dug, this is in nice condition with a deep green brown slick patina. About 1 3/4 inches long ; threads about 1 inch.
