#16984 - Tintype of stern Union Captain This is a CDV-sized tintype plate image of a quite stern & serious looking Union officer. He holds his kepi on his lap. I think his shoulder board shows two bars of a Captain. Image focused sharply but minimally dark. A few emulsion flakes to side of his face but image seems sturdy & stable. There is a faint "ghost" line of an old former oval mat. No mats or case now. No ID yet known. Nice tough field officer image!
