#13623 - Model 1840 Wristbreaker CW used Cavalry Sword
This is a US Model 1840 Cavalry saber called "the Wristbreaker" due to its weight. As was common, blade was made in Germany and imported to USA for assembly. Marked on edge of ricasso "R&C" for maker. Some leather and brass wire remains on wood grip. Brass Guard is tight to blade. The steel blade has a nice aged shine. A 3/4 Length blood gutter fuller. Not sharpened. A cool example! Sadly, the shipping of swords has gone up because US Mail and UPS get very challenged on anything heavy or over 30" now.
