#14908 - CDV Union Officer a Preacher turned to War This is a CDV of a Union first lieutenant who casts a heavenly glow of amiability to all despite the trappings of war. He was "Preacher Phillips" as written on the back. Does one save the Union, follow the tenets of Jesus, or do both? A dilemma for men of the cloth in wartimes... Card and image have light age soiling. Unsure of his state and regiment. Red crayon pencil note on back only says: "Preacher Phillips / Mother went to school to him." Likely many scared troopers were also schooled by him.
