#15062 - Civil War Era Scalpel marked by maker This is a Civil War era scalpel used by Surgeons to dissect through tissues inside body. It has the checkered wood grip which is appropriate to the CW era. It is marked by maker on blade: Fischer/ B'PEST. Whether that means it was imported from Budapest, I cannot say, because while we often brought in instruments from England & France, I never saw one from Budapest! Some light stippling to blade. About 6 1/4" long. Solid.
