#15307 - Union minie bullet in wood from Spotsylvania battle This is a Union minie ball that was found imbedded in old tree wood at Spotsylvania battle site. It flattened on impact but shows evidence of a Union style base ring still. Has resided inside tree for over 150 years. The photos show piece loose. But handling can cause old wood to split, so it comes securely mounted on a labeled wood display base to keep it safe into the future.
