#17582 - Union Sergeant NOCO sword 1865 This is a standard Union Civil War NCO sword for sergeants & corporals. It has faint markings on slightly pitted ricasso: US and faint inspectors initials with 1865 date. The other side shows no clear maker's markings, which usually means the faint Ames logo has worn away easily. Blade tight in grip. Blade with slight pitting ricasso and tip, but most length very smooth. Brass grip with inspector "J.F. mark. No scabbard. A nice relic wall-hanger example.
