#17672 - CW era Tiemann marked torrtoiseshell scalpel This is a small, folding scalpel from the Civil War era, marked by famed instruments maker of the period, Tiemann. It is about 4 inches folded closed. When opened, stainless steel blade is intact, showing Tiemann on base. The case coverings are tortoise shell, which was much used in Nineteenth Century, but not now. A cool, custom doctor's instrument of the CW era.
