#17781 - Great Tooled Leather Double Saddlebags 1860 to 1880 This is a super condition leather double saddle bag which hung over back of horse. Leather has fancy hand "tooling" on rims of both outer flaps. Also added carry straps at top to then carry as a valise! Has all 4 roller buckles and most of leather straps to close. Intact CW and Indian Wars era double saddle bags in this condition are tough to find. From recent barn find. About 14" tall by 16" wide each half bag. Would cleaned up super with fine leather preservative. For your cavalry of Pony Express display.
