#4385 - Unique Spiked-Star Caltrop This is an authentic Civil War period caltrop or horse crippler. They were strewn in the anticipated path of oncoming enemy cavalry in order to stall charges and hobble horses during surprise nighttime raids. It has a unique design of a star with five spikes protruding from front and back. Excellent condition. 1 5/8" across. More fun than the typical spiked "jacks" type of caltrop. Don't know how often these will come onto market. So buy now!
