#9271 - Brass Rim Grimsley Saddle Gettysburg Retreat
This is the front part of the molded brass frame to a CW saddle found near Fairfield, Pennsylvania. That was along retreat route from Gettyysburg battle. This was likely from a Grimsley Saddle, a common dragoon saddle before the war. It could be from a Confederate who used it from old militia stores. This is a VERY cool and rare item!
